General Women's Issues
At Village Health, women’s health is part of what we do every day. All our female GPs have extensive experience in women’s health issues — offering practical, compassionate care in areas such as contraception, pre-pregnancy counselling, early pregnancy concerns, endometriosis, and menstrual problems including heavy bleeding. We also support women with urogynaecological issues such as incontinence or prolapse, as well as peri-menopausal symptoms, pregnancy-related trauma, and lactation medicine.

If you need more specialised care or support with complex women’s health concerns, read on below — our team includes doctors with advanced training in specific areas of women’s health.

Appointments for general women's health issues with your enrolled GP come under "first level" services and normal GP appointment fees apply. If you're a casual patient we would normally put you into Dr Grace Chignall's clinic and private GP fees apply, see our fees page for our charges.
Women’s Health Procedures

Dr Eve Fitzgerald

Dr Beth Shore
Three of our doctors offer in-practice gynaecological procedures, providing expert care in a comfortable and familiar setting.
We have a lithotomy bed, a specialised medical bed that supports you comfortably while allowing the doctor optimal access for gynaecological procedures. It provides the safest, most precise, and most comfortable position for procedures such as IUCD or Mirena insertions, Pipelle biopsies, and pessary fittings.
Dr Eve Fitzgerald performs IUCD and Mirena insertions, pipelle biopsies, and Jadelle insertions.
Dr Beth Shore offers IUCD and Mirena insertions, pipelle biopsies, Jadelle insertions, and pessary fitting for prolapse or incontinence.
Dr Grace Chignall offers IUCD and Mirena insertions, pipelle biopsies, Jadelle insertions, and pessary fitting and review for prolapse or incontinence.

These procedures are available to enrolled and casual patients — simply talk with reception about which service is right for you and to arrange a booking. Procedures are unfunded unless you are low income or meet criteria for funding (for example heavy menstrual bleeding causing anaemia).
Extended Women's Health Consult
Dr Beth Shore has an extended GP role in Lactation Medicine and can help with breast feeding support and post delivery trauma de-briefing. See her page regarding her services.

Dr Beth's clinic is a private GP clinic and first appointments are 30 minutes for pessary fitting and 60 minutes for lactation medicine consultations. See our fees page for prices for private GP appointments.
