Why Continuity of Care is Essential
in General Practice.

Continuity of care is one of the most important aspects of effective healthcare in General Practice. It refers to an ongoing, long-term relationship between a patient and their GP, allowing for consistent management of health concerns over time. Research consistently demonstrates that continuity of care leads to better health outcomes, improved patient satisfaction, and more efficient use of healthcare resources.

At Village Health, we deeply value continuity of care. While we offer acute clinics and infectious disease clinics every day to accommodate urgent needs, we also ensure that each GP has on-the-day appointments available. We work hard to make sure that our patients are mostly seen by their own GP, who knows them best and can provide the most personalised and effective care.

Patient Information

  • If you wish to enrol at Village, please complete the PHO enrolment form and provide us with the eligibility documentation required by the Ministry of Health.

Almost all visits will incur a charge. Please see our fees page for a list of the most common charges. Please note that there may be procedures and services not priced on the fees page. If you are unsure of the charge for the visit, please ask the Receptionist prior to booking the consultation or enquire via reception@villagehealth.net.nz.

Book via our patient portal

GP and NP appointments can be booked online using our patient portal or by phoning reception on 03 338 8595 . (No appointments will be accepted via email).

Attending an appointment

Appointments are booked on a 15-minute basis. If you feel you may require extra time, please advise the receptionist at the time of booking. Patients are encouraged to be aware of the 15-minute time slot and attend with predominantly one issue or more than one if both can be covered in the 15-minute timeframe.

Requesting scripts or getting in touch

Our patient portal is the fastest and most convenient way to communicate, order repeat prescriptions and manage appointments. You are also able to check your test results and send secure messages to your clinician. If you are unable to use the patient portal, we will contact you via phone and email.
