Massage

Massage has been used throughout the ages within all cultures for the promotion and restoration of health, and for relaxation and release. It is one of the easiest ways to reconnect with yourself, understand your body better and bring you into balance. Everyone is unique and so also will be your experience of massage. Massage encourages your natural state of relaxed well being.

The session will be based on what you need:

  • Gentle massage to promote relaxation and stress release
  • Deeper work to release stiff muscles and promote recovery in old injuries and chronic pain
  • Holistic treatments focused on energy balance and/or emotional release.

  • Tension can arise in daily life through physical and emotional strain. Releasing tension on a physical level can also provide benefit on an emotional level.

    Raynor Technique of Therapeutic Massage

This technique combines the philosophies of Shiatsu, Deep Tissue massage, Chinese Acupressure and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, to create a holistic and intuitive massage. Shiatsu and acupressure work on the acupressure meridian lines with finger pressure aiming to release discomfort and rebalance energy. Lomi Lomi uses flowing strokes and pressure to promote energy and blood flow, improve circulation and relieve muscular tension. The massage can be gentle or deep depending on what you like and need.

    Traditional Thai Massage

The ancient art of Thai Massage has been passed from master to student for the last 2000 years. It is fast becoming known in the west for its unique approach to balancing and aligning the body. It uses gentle stretching combined with acupressure along energy lines to release blockages in the body and encourage mobility and flexibility. The massage is done on a mattress on the floor and the recipient wears loose comfortable clothing. No oil is used. A full Thai Massage takes 1½-2 hours. Shorter sessions are available focusing on specific areas needing attention. You must be able to comfortably lie on a thin mattress on the floor. The massage will be adjusted to your needs, flexibility level and comfort.

If you are unsure if Thai massage is for you please call to discuss what is best for you.
