What is Mind/Body Holistic Therapy?
The world is changing, and new ideas are emerging in the way we look after our health and wellbeing. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual unwellness are not separate conditions, they represent an imbalance within the whole system of the being and an such an integrated approach is the most appropriate response.
More and more people are utilising both mainstream medicine and natural therapies. Holistic therapy is not one individual technique or modality, it is a framework within which we regard the client as a whole system, you are not reduced to a set of symptoms or experience of pain. Mind/body holistic therapy is an effective approach to enable healing when imbalance and illness is experienced, for maintaining current health and vitality and developing Consciousness.
About Meegan
A long time meditator and spiritual enquirer, I am deeply committed to working with people to enable them to embrace their fullest potential, whatever that may be. I engaged a deep and lengthy process of self inquiry and self healing, when in my early twenties I became severly ill with Crohn's disease, or IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). The recovery from this was a long and powerfully transforming process. It is primarily because of this journey from sickness (on many levels) to renewed health that I really understand and embody what it takes to consciously develop; physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.
For the past ten years I have been supporting others through my professional counselling and holistic therapy practice as they grow in their own self empowerment and heal. Some of my other roles include mother of two young children, wife, friend, summer and winter beach lover, co-founder of Village Health natural therapy centre, and well trained owner of a dog called Puck.
Your first session
Generally clients have a sense of what is not working for them and we start there. I gather a clear picture of your current issues and life circumstances, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I clarify with you which problems or concerns you would like to specifically address. We then formulate an agreed “map” for how our work together will proceed.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of session/s engaged depends of your needs and goals for our work together. There is no fixed number of sessions required. Some clients get all they need from one session, others embark on a longer journey of transformation and healing.
