I have been living in Taranaki for the past 6 years where I came to live and study because of the Naturopathic College of New Zealand.
I previously trained and gained certification in teaching people with disabilities and put them to use at Whakatu Psychiatric Hospital in Dunedin where I worked as a Nurse Aide. Prior to this I lived in Ireland and London for 7 years where I worked as a Nurse Aide at the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital and Palliative Care alongside a registered nurse and also residential care for families of children with disabilities. This became my main job, and led me later to working in Special Education as a Community Support Worker when I returned to New Zealand, beginning my journey of learning Natural Health. Working alongside allopathic medicine for the past 15 years I had become aware that there was a greater need of a complementary health system that would support and enhance allopathic medicine with natural remedies. I have gone back to studying Naturopathy.
At present I am working as a Natural Therapist accredited by the Society of Natural Therapists & Researchers Inc. This entitles me to work with a scope of practice in Relaxation Massage. I, at the clients request add a light meditation of positive affirmations to help shift, acknowledge and let go of any energy that no longer serves you. I have found this a safe and effective way to shift energy. Nutrition is my passion and I enjoy working closely on people’s blood type and body type offering specific recommendations to assist the body’s ability to metabolize foods more efficiently to obtain optimum health benefits. I currently do referrals for a qualified Naturopath through Hair Analysis which helps determine food and environmental allergies, heavy metal poisons, eczema and asthma and other allergies or disease. This gets returned to me with treatment and a remedy plan that I then pass on to you along with my nutritional advice.
I have been in business for the past 3 years, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time on Surf Highway 45 living in both Okato and Opunake. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the communities for their support and encouragement they have given me over the years. I look forward to meeting new clients, enhancing my knowledge and be able to give back and share with the community. Thank you for your clientele. Your health is valued, respected and confidential.
My Philosophy
We are all unique and special and we have the freedom to choose who we are, whether it be in our physical, mental, emotional or spiritual being. I believe that everyone can choose to be healthier and happier, no matter what their circumstances or experiences have been. We all have the potential to be the best we can be. It’s never too late to change or improve our lives. My aim is to help others to achieve their wellbeing goals and to overcome or aid in their personal concerns or illness.
